A Pig and a... Dishcloth?

Hello all! It's Wednesday again, and you know what that means: Yarn Along and WIP Wednesday!

If you remember, last week I told you about the pig I was making while at work. Well this week I worked on him during my Ice Cream Social program on Monday night, and I finished the body! His tail isn't visible because I wanted to show you his cute little face. This is all I have completed so far.

Another WIP I have is the Mystery Group Dishcloth KAL that my sister and I do twice a month. As you can see, I haven't started it yet, but I can't wait to see what it will become! We can use either solid or variegated yarn this time, and whatever size needles we want (I'm using sevens). The KAL began today, and this one is all about practicing technique. If you're interested in joining, just click the photo caption!

I finished Othello on Monday (which means I got it done early because it doesn't have to be completed until tomorrow). It was super good! Shakespeare is a literary genius. And since we're not starting King Lear until next week, I decided to pick up this book that I bought over the summer. It is also very well written. I love how real Holley is at the beginning about how she struggled to wake up every morning for Quiet Time (even when she bribed herself with chocolate!). I also love the message it gives its readers about how women are wonderfully made in the Lord. Way to go Holley Gerth!

I Give a Hoot!

What do you guys think? I made her because I needed a break from some of my current projects (I just could not handle them anymore). She took about four hours to complete. My biggest complaint with the pattern is that the head is made completely into a ball, so sewing it onto the open end of the body is a little difficult.

But anyway. If you would like to see more finished objects, head on over to Tami's Amis!

Oink, Oink!

As you have probably guessed from the title, I'm working on an Amigurumi Pig!

All I have done so far is part of the body and the tail (progress is slow moving because I'm working on it while I'm at work, so I have to keep stopping when customers come). I really love the pattern so far though (it's a Lion Brand pattern, and I've never had a problem with their patterns before). It's a little ball; what could possibly be more fun than a small pig ball!? I can't wait to finish it!

Right now I'm reading Shakespeare's Othello. I've never read it before, have only read Act 1 so far, and am already in love with it. Shakespeare is such a literary genius.

If you would like to see more works in progress, head on over to Tami's Amis. Another good place to find wips (and the occasional good book to read) is over at Ginny's!

Enjoy your Wednesday!

Yoga Bow Pose Dishcloth

It's done! I know it's a little late to be posting about finished objects, but I thought I'd share what the Mystery Dishcloth KAL turned out to be. As you can tell by the caption, it is the Bow Pose in Yoga. It's a little interesting and I wouldn't have picked it on my own, but it was fun because it was a mystery! If you would like to see my Ravelry notes or more pictures, just click the caption!

Bulletin boards were also due by midnight tonight.

This is my first board. The requirements? At least one event for Parent's Weekend (which is next week). I decided to put the event schedule! Well, most of it. I had to cut out a few events from Friday and Saturday because I had no room. Sunday does not have many events because parents usually leave early in the day.

This is my second board. There were no requirements for this one, and I did it on why you should have plants in your dorm room! The incentive? They reduce stress, muscle tension, and your likelihood of contracting an illness. Studies have also shown that plants improve your interactions with other people. I really love how it turned out, and I couldn't have done it without my sister, Charlotte. She helped me plan it last night.

Poetry and a Mystery

Oh my goodness. Jenn is posting on a Wednesday again! It's exciting isn't it? Well, at least I'm excited!

One of my classes this semester is a Creative Writing Poetry class, and one of the books we need to read is Opened Ground. It's a collection of poems by Seamus Heaney. We haven't read a lot of it so far, but I really like what I have read.
I'm also doing a mystery dishcloth KAL with Knit Dishcloths KALs on Ravelry. Since this is the first one of the month, it is just a simple stockinet/reverse stockinet picture dishcloth. A few rows of the pattern appear every day until it is completed. Today is day 3, and it should be done on Friday. I can't wait to show you guys the finished object!

If you would like to see more WIPs check out Tami's Amis and Ginny's!

Until next time!

There is a DRAGON on the loose...

Hello! I have something very exciting to share with you...

As promised, I finished my dragon. She was completed last Saturday, but I have yet to come up with  a name for her. Maybe Daisy? Daisy the Dragon? I don't know (feel free to comment with suggestions). But she was so much fun to make. This was the first FreshStitches pattern that I have completed, but I can tell you that I have more of her patterns on my list! More pictures of my dragon are on my Ravelry page. Just click the caption!
Also, the accent color (the lighter one) is called "Fairy Tale". How appropriate is that?
