June 1 - 10 days

It's raining here. Not pouring, but it's supposed to storm all day. I like that.

 I love the way Athens looks when it's wet. It's just so pretty! (By the way, I took these pictures out of my room window. Just thought I'd explain how I achieved such an point of view in the shots) And there was something else too... Oh yeah!

That's right! 10 days until I get to head over to Chicago for the summer with Campus Crusade! I totally cannot wait; it's going to be a blast! For the record, I plan on using this blog to keep in touch with the men and women who supported me both financially and with prayers to go. I pray that I can stick to that commitment. Updates will probably come out once or twice a week. I don't know; we'll have to see.

Oh, and I forgot to mention something else. March, I don't know, 26th ish? I started sponsoring a child through World Vision. It was something that I'd been thinking about for years (but, you know, always trying to get my mom to do for me), and I just decided one day after prayer and petition that the Lord wanted to teach me how to better manage my money. I was only to pick up two shifts at my college job for a total of six hours per week at minimum wage. He wanted me to sponsor a child, give to the church I attend, and to become a better stewardess of His resources. I was a little worried because I was a frequent Amazon shopper (silly Amazon Prime offered free to students), would be getting less income (I usually picked up 10-11 hours a week), and would be giving more. But I eventually decided to trust Him and started sponsoring. I also joined the World Vision Prayer Team. I receive monthly emails of one way that I can pray for the nations. This month's prayer request is for child exploitation. I post this not to ask for prayer, although you are more that welcome to if you would like, but to raise awareness and give you something to think about. This is not just a problem "somewhere else". If you read the page, it tells you that UNICEF estimates that approximately 300,000 American children are at risk of this each year. This is a serious issue all over the world today, not just everywhere but the US.

That's all I have I think. I'm about to go partake in the last class of my first year of college. Woohoo for being almost done!
