Happy Fourth!

It's that time of the week again ladies and gents. Time for Ginny's weekly Yarn Along.

I am still reading Beautiful Outlaw by John Eldredge. I am on page 81 and am still finding it joyful and inspirational.
I am knitting (I know, I know, I'm knitting. It's been a while, but I still remember how) a potholder with KnitPicks Dishie yarn, color Jay. I am loosely following this pattern. Loosely because I am using worsted weight yarn instead of fingering, so I had to change the number of stitches to keep it from being giant. I will post my alterations here and on my Ravelry page. I am making it as a surprise for a friend. I really hope she loves it.

It is also the Fourth. My new friend Sydney asked if she could paint my nails for me, and I told her that she could do whatever she wanted. After picking colors, she decided to do this.

They turned out super cute. And they're Independence Day themed! I'm so glad to live in America where we have freedoms like no other. I am very thankful for all our soldiers sacrifices which allow me to live the way I do. I'm especially thankful for my friends who have sacrificed and choosen to serve.

How about you? Do you know anyone in the military? What freedom are you most thankful for this Independence Day? Comment with your answer.

Happy Wednesday!
Jenn

  1. i am always appreciative of the fact that american tolerates dissent. freedom of speech for all. (sometimes that's hard to remember when people are saying things i disagree with, but that's when it's most important!)

    1. I agree. Especially after being on the newspaper in high school and having the principal restrict that freedom I appreciate it a lot more.
