Monday, and an Elephant named Rufus

Hello everyone! Happy Monday! It's beautiful here in Chicago. The sun is shining, and the view is gorgeous. The view was beautiful yesterday too, but in a completely different way.

These pictures are just a hint of the second storm that came through this past weekend. This was yesterday, and it was only a couple of hours before the sun was shining again, but it was so beautiful. We originally cracked the window so we could smell the rain, but then I took advantage of it so I could take pictures. As you can see from the last picture, if I didn't want my camera to get wet I only had a few shot options, but it was well worth it. With the way the weather looks today it is almost impossible to tell that it was raining yesterday. So beautiful.

I have other news as well.

Little Amigurumi Elephant number two has been completed! He was made for one of the Amys on Project. She is on my Impact team, so I wanted to make sure that this little guy was completed for her yesterday so I could give him to her at the meeting. When she saw him she basically squealed for joy. It was a good feeling to know that she loves him so much. She named him Rufus.
This pattern was just as fast and easy as the first time I made it and I still love the pattern. If you would like to see more pictures of this particular little elephant you can check out my Ravelry page.

I will also be starting a CAL with my roommate Katelyn. She finished both her pie and her gnome and decided that she wanted to make a "circle scarf". I told her that it was called a "cowl", and she decided on this pattern. It is all half-double crochet, and I am going to modify it with her to work in the round to get rid of the seam created by the sewing. She is so excited to make it. I'm going to use purple and white variegated stash yarn, and she wants her's to be moss green and grey. Sounds like another trip to Micheal's is in order to get her yarn!

That's all for now!

  1. I might do that cowl along with you! I never made myself one with the leftover gray from my cabled hat. But I have green leftover from Sabrina's hat too that would be pretty...

    1. I thought you were making an owl with the leftover yarn. And if I knew how I could make it a link up party!

    1. Thanks! I have a third elephant like that to make yet too, but there is no rush on that one.
